## *Overview*
_Retire in comfort, with culture, climate, and peace of mind._
Spain’s Retirement Visa — officially known as the Non-Lucrative Visa — offers non-EU nationals the opportunity to live full-time in one of Europe’s most lifestyle-rich destinations, without the need to work or invest. From beachside living in the Costa del Sol to the quiet charm of inland villages, Spain has long been a favourite for retirees seeking sunshine, great healthcare, and affordable living.
To be eligible, you’ll need to show that you can support yourself through passive income or savings, with a minimum of around €28,800 per year — and a bit more if you're bringing your spouse or children. You’ll also need private health insurance and a clean criminal record, along with a medical certificate confirming you’re fit to live in Spain.
*Eligibility Criteria:*
- Financial Means: Demonstrate a stable annual income of at least €28,800, with an additional €7,200 for each dependent.
- Health Insurance: Obtain comprehensive private health insurance coverage in Spain.
- Clean Criminal Record: Provide a certificate indicating no criminal history.
- Medical Certificate: Submit a medical certificate confirming you do not have any diseases that could pose a public health risk.
The visa is valid for one year, renewable for up to five, and opens the door to permanent residency. It also includes family members, and gives you the right to travel freely within the Schengen Zone — all while enjoying Spain’s food, culture, and way of life at your own pace.
